Moulton police search for brazen bandit

MOULTON, AL (WAFF)- Investigators are looking for the person responsible for a burglary that did more damage to the business than what was taken.

It happened off Hwy 157 in Moulton.

Investigators have finger prints, DNA evidence, and surveillance video that Moulton police are hoping will catch this brazen bandit.  

Affordable Truck Driver Training Company has been located on Highway 157 for almost two years; and less than 24 hours ago was the first time the business was the target of a break-in.

"You feel violated," said owner Darryl Green. "I know he didn't get a lot of money because we don't keep cash here on campus," he said.

Damage that had Darryl Green's business nearly in pieces when he came to work.

"This is where he ripped the fire extinguisher off used it to bust through the window, and went through that stuff over there and.. went through the vending machine," he showed WAFF 48 News. "There was blood on parts of the machine and of course finger prints," Green said.

Investigators said the suspect parked his white SUV next to the business, got out of the car, and then jumped a barbed wire fence went around the back to gain entry into the building.

Cameras throughout the facility caught the crook in the act; entering through the back, then rummaging through the office drawers and later leaving the facility.

Chief Lyndon McWhorter said a pair of other businesses were targeted around the same time.

"They were in the same area, and both of them being businesses over the weekend, we would believe it's a good possibility it's the same suspect," he said.

A suspect responsible for several hundred dollars worth of damage, and a business owner left to clean it up.

The suspect is facing burglary 3rd and theft of property.
