MADISON COUNTY, AL (WAFF) - A Madison County woman is recovering after being thrown from her vehicle during a violent wreck.
It happened Wednesday afternoon on Bobo Section Road in Madison County.
The 21-year-old driver, Brooke Brown from Hazel Green, was thrown from her car and trapped underneath it.
People on scene said the soaked ground and muddy crash site may have saved the woman's life.
"If it had been solid ground, the car could have just crushed her, but the mud was so soft that it kinda just absorbed the shock," said a witness to the scene, Vanessa Brannon.
Once emergency crews freed the woman from the wreckage, she was flown to Huntsville Hospital then transfered to UAB Hospital.
