MONTGOMERY, Ala. (AP) - Alabama state troopers say three people died in separate traffic accidents overnight in Randolph and Etowah counties.
A two-vehicle wreck in Randolph County claimed the life of 16-year-old Anthony L. Higgins Jr., of Wedowee. Troopers said the crash occurred just before 7:30 p.m. on Randolph County Road 15, about 4 miles south of Wedowee. The driver of the second vehicle was not hurt.
Two men died in a one-vehicle accident in Etowah County. Troopers identified the victims as 31-year-old Shane Thompson of Attalla and 33-year-old Zane Gray of Gadsden.
The accident happened on U.S. 278 just before 10 p.m. about one mile east of Walnut Grove.
