Updated Noon Friday
Temperatures will continue to inch their way closer to that century mark over the next few days. Today will be partly cloudy, hot and humid with highs in the upper 90s. The heat index will climb to between and 100 and 105 this afternoon. Rain chances look slim with only a renegade shower or storm possible across NW Alabama. We'll stay warm and muggy tonight with lows in the mid 70s. Storm chances look to be a little higher tomorrow although only isolated coverage is expected. Temperatures will be back in the upper 90s. Sunday looks dry with highs nearing 100. If we hit 100 again Monday and Tuesday look to be the most likely days for it. With high pressure building in overhead storm chances look slim to none. The heat will begin to ease mid to late week with a slight increase in the storm chances. Highs will gradually settle back into the mid 90s by the end of next week. Have a great weekend!
