80s on the way today; Severe threat for tomorrow

Happy Hump Day! A much warmer start to the day out there today and that warmth will continue all day long.

Another day near 80 degrees out there today, but a little more cloud cover than every other day this week. We should still have a mix of sun and clouds which will make for a nice afternoon. Wind from the south should stay persistent around 8 to 12 mph. Big changes are on the way for Thursday.

The First Alert is out for Thursday for the potential of strong to severe thunderstorms. The storms look to move into Northwest Alabama by mid to late afternoon and push east through the evening and overnight into early Friday morning. Right now, this looks to be a squall line that moves through, which means that our primary threats will be strong wind gusts of 50-60 mph and heavy rainfall. However, spin-up tornadoes are also possible, but the best threat for damaging storms looks to be off to our south. Keep checking back for more info and a clearer forecast as we get closer.

Easter Weekend starts off cold with a gloomy and chilly day for Good Friday. Breezy winds expect Friday and Saturday. However, clouds clear out early Saturday and that will bring in sunshine and warmer temperatures for the rest of the weekend. Saturday looks to be into the upper 60s and Easter Sunday looks spectacular with the mid to upper 70s and plenty of sunshine!
