Road closures due to heavy rain and flash flooding

(WAFF) - Some roads are closed due to heavy rain and flash flooding across the Tennessee Valley.

DeKalb County

  • [2:47PM] County Road 604/Wades Gap Road

Jackson County

  • [8:24AM] County Road 17 from Skyline Mounment Company in the Letcher Community to County Road 30 at Larkinsville is currently closed due to a portion of roadway that has cracked. The County Engineer is en-route at this time to assess the situation.

Lawrence County

  • [8:24AM] Flooded roadway on Alabama 20 eastbound at Kirby Road in Hillsboro

Limestone County

  • [8:24AM] Mooresville Road will be closed between Humphrey Road and Old Highway 20 due to flooding
  • [8:24AM] Chapman Hollow Road at Highway 99 
  • [8:24AM] Chapman Hollow Road at Highway 99
  • [8:24AM] These additional roads have water all over them: Please use an alternate route even though they may not be barricaded: Capshaw Road at Sanderson Road, Mooresville Road at Highway 53, Wales Street at Looney Road, Cannon Road, Highway 31 at Nuclear Plant Road
  • [4:30PM] Mooresville Rd. closed between Humphrey Rd. and Old Hwy 20
  • [4:30PM] Chapman Hollow Rd. closed at Hwy 99
  • [SAT - 7:53 AM] - Cowford Road closed at Brownsferry Road

Madison County

  • [8:24AM] Homer Nance Road in Mount Caramel Community 
  • [8:24AM] Jordan Road in Mount Caramel Community 
  • [8:24AM] Zierdt Road 
  • [8:24AM] Edgewater Drive 
  • [8:05 AM] - Caldwell Lane just east of Highway 431 is not passable at this time. 
  • [SUN - 12 AM] - Moores Mill Road at Jacobs Farm Road
  • [SAT 8 PM] - Intersection of Indian Creek and Blake Bottom is Flooded
  • [SAT 8 PM] - Stringfield Road at Burgess Street

Morgan County

  • [8:24AM] Bethel Road at Main Street is closed due to multiple crews being on scene of a active structure fire! Please avoid the area
