Grant will help Florence homeless population

FLORENCE, AL (WAFF) - The city of Florence and the local Salvation Army are teaming up to help the city’s homeless population.

Our news partners at the Times Daily report that additional funding from a state grant will enable the local Salvation Army shelter to open every day.

The project will also provide a day center for job-skills classes two days a week...as well as GED courses and drug counseling and budgeting courses.
