Showers to close out the work week; colder air on the way

(WAFF) - A cold front will make its way into the Tennessee Valley early Friday. Rain coverage will be elevated for the area tomorrow with showers spreading from west to east. Cooler air will pour in behind the front and temperatures will take a big dive.

Get your jackets and coats ready because the Tennessee Valley will get a preview of winter with the colder temperatures ahead. Saturday jump starts the day with morning lows in the low 30s. Sunshine will grace the sky, but will not aid in a decent warm up. Highs will only make it into the upper 40s. Mostly sunny skies will close out the weekend. Another freezing morning for Sunday with temperatures near 30 degrees. Afternoon highs will rise in the mid 50s.

Monday launches the new work week with another cold front, igniting showers and bringing another blast of cold air. A few showers are expected during the first half of the day Tuesday, and the sky will clear by the afternoon. Overnight lows will be in the 20s and 30s for the remainder of the work week. Highs will be chilly, in the 40s and 50s.
