Man in custody after allegedly running over woman at Limestone County trailer park

LIMESTONE COUNTY, AL (WAFF) - The Limestone County Sheriff’s Office confirms a man they were looking for is in custody.

Investigators say Loyd Leon Heflin, 47, ran over a woman at a mobile home park on Jennings Chapel Road Tuesday afternoon. He then fled the scene.

Deputy Stephen Young, spokesman for the sheriff’s office, said Heflin was captured Wednesday evening.

He faces charges of first-degree domestic violence assault.

Deputies responded to the mobile home park Tuesday afternoon after dispatchers were told about a physical altercation between a man and a woman.

The victim is in stable condition at Huntsville Hospital.
